Hamper Lounge is very proud to be supporting the new mental health and suicide prevention charity Beder, set up by Beder Mirjan’s family – a wonderful and bright lad who tragically took his own life at the age of 18 in 2017.
From Beder’s Kitchen is a charity cook book containing a collection of recipes and reflections from amazing foodies including head and executive chefs at some of the UK’s leading restaurants; MasterChef winners; TV chefs; food bloggers; nutritionists; best-selling authors; a Great British Bake Off winner and mental health advocates.
There are 90 contributors who have donated recipes and shared their personal experiences and words of advice about looking after their mental health and how food has played a part in that.
Among those involved include Gordon Ramsay, Yotam Ottolenghi, executive pastry chef at Hawksmoor Carla Henriques, chef and TV regular Romy Gill, author of Palestine on a Plate Joudie Kalla, host of Korean Food Made Simple Judy Joo and founder of Leon Henry Dimbleby.
Each chapter has a different theme: Start Your Day The Right Way contains delicious recipes for breakfast and brunch; Happy Gut, Happy Life is filled with nutritious and healthy recipes; Fast Food (but not as you know it!) provides mouth-watering recipes which can be made in under 45 minutes; Soul Food is packed with everyone’s favourite dishes; and Sweet Treats offers scrumptious desserts and baking recipes.
All proceeds from the cook book support Beder in its work to raise awareness around mental health and suicide prevention.
